Timeline
Around March / April 1983 there was an early Synchronicity Tour rehearsal at a photo studio on the corner of N. La Brea and Melrose Ave in Los Angeles - where CCCP also had an office. The Police tried out the programming that Sting had been working on in Los Angeles on an Oberheim DSX sequencer - for songs such as Synchronicity I, Wrapped Around Your Finger, King Of Pain and Walking In Your Footsteps.
Sting's parts were originally performed in the studio on an Oberheim OBX-A synthesizer. At this rehearsal he shared the newly sequenced parts with Stewart and Andy. Stewart would write complimentary drum sequences on an Oberheim DMX drum machine to provide him with a rhythm part to perform along with Sting's sequences.
In July 1983 The Police met at The Worried Rabbit and then rehearsed at John Henry's rehearsal studios in London.
The band had originally planned to play a few warm-up concerts in large venues in England. As the computerized equipment was not ready in time the band then announced to play a few concerts in small venues without any special effects. But after a week of rehearsals Sting had voice problems and had to rest his throat for at least 10 days.
Final tour rehearsals took place at the Brixton Academy for 2-3 days, before the band and sound equipment had to be shipped to the USA.
