Les Nemes (Haircut 100) remembers meeting The Police in 1982 at Nomis Studios in London - Haircut One Hundred were rehearsing at Nomis Studios in London for an American tour and The Police were next door. "On a break, our guitarist Jonsey (Graham Jones) decided it would be a good idea for me to get on one of the big trolleys they used to wheel the gear around and whizz me down the corridor. As we passed the door, at full speed, of where the Police were rehearsing Stewart stepped out and we had to swerve and slam on the breaks to stop from running him over, I mean, imagine if we had killed Stewart Copeland from The Police! My God! He dived to one side with his hands out and said, "Whoa boys, slow down" That was it, a brief encounter but one that will stay in my mind forever. "

September 1982 probably - Sting is at a party in London celebrating the Guinness Book of 500 British Number One Hits (that book was relased in that month). There's a photo with Sting wearing a policeman's helmet, wearing a jeans jacket. There's a similar pic with Andy also present, might be from the same night. Stewart's diaries don't explicitly mention this - maybe the No.1 club entry from Sept 22 is about that event...
