Introduction

Sting bought this Jazz Bass in Newcastle for about 150 UK pounds. He used it in Last Exit times, with The Police and for his solo tours.

Gear breakdown

Between 1977-08-05 and 1978-02-23 Sting got rid of the bridge cover.

By 1985 the bass still had its original stock pickups and no modifications except for a refinishing of its neck.

By 1991 several potentiometer knobs had been replaced with metal Telecaster knobs and the bridge was replaced with a Schaller.

In 2000 the bass had found a place of honour at Sting's home - he still considered it one of his favourites.
