Date: 1983-08-26
Location: Winnipeg, Canada
Attendees: The Police

At 2:00am Sting was admitted at United Hospitals in St. Paul because he experienced pain in his left chest and a rapid heart beat. The Police apparently played a short set because of this and Sting was driven to the hospital in a limousine afterwards. Sting was discharged at 3:00pm when hospital tests showed no physical problem.

The Police flew to Winnipeg with their private jet. Sting and Andy Summers got into one limo and Stewart Copeland got into another one. While in town they snuck into a local movie theatre and saw "Risky Business" (Tom Cruise movie). News got out very quickly that they were in the movie theatre and there was a crowd waiting outside. A young female artist gave Andy a painting she entitled "Tea In The Sahara" Andy was apparantly extremely accomodating and appreciative to her gesture. The Police stayed at a hotel called the Hotel Fort Garry. At the time, Winnipeg's finest. The night of the 26th, Stewart and Andy walked down to the bar where there was a long line-up waiting to get in. The young woman working the admission just looked up and told them to take the back of the line. SHE DIDN'T KNOW WHO THEY WERE!!!. Stewart and Andy didn't say a thing and turned around and were escorted into the bar via a few back doors. Meanwhile, the people recognized them and reamed out the young woman for not allowing them into the bar.
