This is just a guesstimation.
In Sounds - January 9, 1977 - Phil Sutcliffe wrote a long article about Last Exit.
The few facts:
- Sting and Frances Tomelty went to Leicester Forest East Services the weekend before the gig with their Citroen Diane
- The band picked him up there on their way to London
- Last Exit supported Isaac Guillory at Dingwall's on a Monday
- there were a few dozen people in the audience when Last Exit played
- they stayed at Dingwall's until after 1am the next day to see the Isaac Guillory concert, too
- Carol Wilson from Virgin Publishing had arranged the gig and was present at Dingwall's (Carol Wilson and Richard Branson from Virgin Records had previously watched Last Exit support Alan Price at Newcastle City Hall earlier that autumn)
- She had also arranged three days of recording time at Pathway Studios on the following days
- Mike Howlett was in the audience, too - vaguely working for Virgin
- Carol Wilson bought lunch for Last Exit at a wine bar near Portobello Road the next day
- Last Exit spent the rest of the week recording 13 tracks at Pathway Studios (including I'm On This Train, Savage Beast, Night In The Grand Hotel, I Can't Say, Give And Take and Getting It On)
- They were back in Newcastle on Sunday for regular spot in the Newcastle University Theatre bar at lunchtime
- Last Exit were supposed to be a supporting act at the Nashville Room in a couple of weeks

(although Last Exit actually played for nothing Virgin's backing with studio time and petrol money probably reduced this to about £80 spent to be split between the four members of the band)

Gerry: Fender-Rhodes Stage 73 piano, Simms-WattsPA100 amp, two Unilex Transit 100 watt bins, Crybaby wah-wah, Ibanez phaser, WOZ (= home-made by Jim) automatic wah-wah.
Ronnie: Gretsch kit, Avedis ZiIdjian cymbals, Rogers hi-hat; Ludwig Speed-King bass drum pedal, 20 year-old Ludwig snare-drum pedal.
Sting: Fender Jazz bass, Marshall Super Bassman 100watt amp, Fender Dual Showman cabinet.
PA: two Carlsbro mini-bins, Carlsbro Marlin 1042.
Monitors: H&H TPA 5OD 100 watt Slave amp, twoWhite 2x12 cabinets.
Mikes: Shure Unidyne 111.
According to contemporary UK magazines the Dingwall's gig did not happen on September 6 or September 13.
Isaac Guillory was in London the week prior to September 20.
The gig at the Nashville Room took place on October 5.
So today is the best guess for this Dingwall's gig as described by Phil Sutcliffe.
