Band history
Formed in August 1976 Chelsea played their first concert on October 18, 1976. Line-ups changed a lot over the years, with Gene October being the only original band member. They released their first single "Right To Work "on Miles Copeland's "Step-Forward Records" label in June 1977.
The Police have a long common history with Chelsea, they played several concerts together.
Stewart Copeland watched several concerts and eventually filmed the band during the 1982 Anti-Nowhere League tour - for his movie So What.
Sting performed with them twice in 1980 and 1981.
In 1984 Gene October played a junkie in the Andy Summers / Robert Fripp Parade music video.
In 1989 Henry Padovani played guitar on one song of the Underwraps album, also performing on current member Mat Sargent's Sex Drugs And HIV album in 2008.
