In May 1977 Mike Howlett, Andy Summers, Stewart Copeland and Sting rehearsed and recorded songs at Virtual Earth Studio. On 1977-05-28 they played those songs at the Gong festival in Paris under the band name Strontium 90. Some studio versions and some live songs were published on the CD Strontium 90: Police Academy in 1997. They also played some songs by The Police, such as Visions Of The Night and Three O'Clock Shit.

Sting's vocals for Nuclear Waste may have been recorded here, too - in the spring of 1978.
