Introduction

"The music on this album was first played to over a billion people around the world in May 1990 - The climax of the 'One World' series on television. It is the ultimate global mix, the brainchild of Kevin Godley. Filmed and recorded on the road, it is a "chain tape", each of the musicians adding a new theme to the mix as Kevin's team toured the world. All profits will go to charities fighting environmental destruction and rising global poverty."

Personnel

  • Sting was the first musician to record something for this project. Producer Rupert Hine went to New York, where Sting recorded a bass part and a drum program on his Synclavier. When engineer Stephen Tayler arrived Sting's basic track from the Synclavier was transferred to Sony digital 24-track at Hip Pocket Recording Studios
  • Stewart Copeland played percussion - he's not listed on the CD credits, but features in the TV documentary

Track listing

As it's basically one long song the CD credits don't list separate tracks (although there are 22 on the record).
