---|---|
Date: | 1977-01-09 |
Location: | London, England, UK |
Attendees: | Stewart Copeland, Sting, Ian Copeland |
- In Broken Music Sting remembers calling Stewart from a nearby telephone booth. Then he went to Stewart's flat in Mayfair and they jammed with Ian Copeland.
- Wild Thing also mentions that Sting had Stewart's number and called him.
- L'Historia Bandido and Sting And The Police (Nikart) mention that Stewart called Sting, having received his number from Phil Sutcliffe - but this probably referred to an earlier call before Sting moved to London.
The most trustworthy information comes from Stewart Copeland's diaries: Stewart went out for breakfast. He was later visited by Florian Pilkington-Miksa and paid him 200 UK pounds for the Revox machine. Sting arrived at Stewart's home and Stewart played some tapes for him.
- Fun fact: Stewart Copeland's telephone at 26 Green Street, Mayfair in January 1977 was 01 499 8760.
