The Police receive Billboard magazine's Number 1 award for having the Number 1 single and LP on the charts.

The party was held by Musician magazine (owned by Billboard) whose 1983-06 Musician The Police issue was their all-time best seller. Party guests included Foreigner, Joe Jackson and the B52's.
