Trivia

Sting played Macheath in the 3 Penny Opera.

During this final the cast improvised and joked around - Sting even shaved his moustache on stage !

An article and an ad in Playbill (November 1989) mention that the 3 Penny Opera was performed eight times a week:

  • Tuesday: 8:00pm
  • Wednesday: 2:00pm and 8:00pm
  • Thursday: 8:00pm
  • Friday: 8:00pm
  • Saturday: 2:00pm and 8:00pm
  • Sunday: 3:00pm

(this doesn't quite fit with two performances which may have taken place on a Monday...)
