History
Illegal Records was an independent record label founded by Stewart Copeland and Miles Copeland in 1977 for the release of The Police's first single Fall Out.
The Police intended to release their debut on Illegal Records until Miles made the deal with A&M.
The label would release records from a lot of well known acts such as Wayne County & The Electric Chairs (before Henry Padovani joined), Chelsea, The Cramps, The Lords Of The New Church, R.E.M., The Go-Go's, etc...
