=About the song=
The song was the first one to be recorded on the first day of the [[Ten Summoner's Tales]] recording session ([[1992-08-10]]).  

The band played [[If I Ever Lose My Faith In You]] five times. The bass was later replaced during mixing sessions at [[The Town House]] (it was the only song to feature the Fender Precision bass), as were some guitar parts. The only overdubs were a harmonica part by [[Sting]], a Synclavier organ and some percussion parts played by [[Sting]] and [[Vinnie Colaiuta]] on an old Linn. [[Sting]]'s vocals and the Harmonica part of the song were recorded on a Sony 800 G microphone.
