Introduction

Sting received this fretless bass on 1980-11-22 in Chicago, IL, USA.

It was featured in the official video for De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da, which was shot only a few days afterwards.

On 1981-01-10 Jol Dantzig gave another black Prototype to Andy (its serial number was 02391). Andy played it at that show and was satisfied enough to ask Jol for even another guitar.
