Band history
Between 2002-09-03 and 2003-01-19 Stewart Copeland played only four concerts and one TV performance with The Doors Of The 21st Century before they sacked him for artistic reasons.
Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger of The Doors intended to play concerts with original drummer John Densmore, who refused to do so. They rehearsed with Stewart Copeland and Ian Astbury and played their first concert on 2002-09-03 at the House of Blues in Los Angeles, CA, USA. On 2002-09-06 the band did a press conference for their concert at the California Speedway in Fontana, CA, USA.
Stewart expressed his concerns about the use of the name "The Doors" in a memo he wrote on 2002-09-15.
The band played another concert at Molson Park in Barrie, ON, Canada on 2002-09-29
On 2002-11-28 Stewart Copeland fractured his left arm when he was bicycling from Venice Beach to Santa Monica and avoided hitting a 3 year old child on its tricycle. Some concerts had to be re-scheduled because of that injury.
On 2003-01-16 Stewart performed Light My Fire with the band on the Jay Leno show in Los Angeles, CA, USA.
Their final concert would be at Palms Casino in Las Vegas, NV, USA on 2003-01-19.
On 2003-03-07 Stewart Copeland filed a lawsuit against The Doors Of The 21st Century. He claimed the breach of an oral contract.
Stewart would appear in court on 2004-07-27 as a witness at another Doors lawsuit in Los Angeles - John Densmore and the remaining Doors members had sued each other.
