Sting attends Richard Caring's ...

Sting stayed at the Grand Hotel Europe.

The fancy-dress ball in the throne room of the Catherine Palace was on November 27, 2005. It was attended by high-ranking guests, among whom was the former US President Bill Clinton, such stars as Tina Turner, Elton John, Naomi Kampel, Sting and the UK’s largest businessmen. The purpose of the event was to raise funds for the fund of children who suffered from violence. The costume ball was styled as the 19th century, and during it, competitions and auctions were held. One of the lots was dinner with Elton John. The cost of admission was about 10 thousand dollars. Because of the unprecedented show, the Catherine Palace was closed to visitors for 4 days. The charity ball was organized by Richard Keiring. According to the holiday condition, all guests were in historical costumes of the Russian imperial court: ladies in crinolines, diamonds and hats, men in camisoles and wigs. Many costumes were valuable exhibits rented at the Hermitage. Before the ball, a small tour of the palace was organized for guests.
