The Outlandos newsletter from March 1985 mentioned that Sting and his new band flew to Barbados immediately after having finished their New York concerts.
Musician magazine from July 1985 mentions that Sting talked to journalist Vic Garbarini on the phone after the Ritz concerts - "later that week" - mentioning that recording the record would begin "next week".
