Band history
The Nomads were the first band Stewart Copeland performed with.
For the 1965-07-04 concert at the American Embassy Beach Club (in Beirut, Lebanon) he replaced drummer Ahmad Mamlouk, who went to visit his dying father in a prison in Damascus, Syria.
(Apparently Farzat Mamlouk survived and was later imprisoned in Palmyra, before eventually being placed under house arrest in Duma, where he spent the last fifteen years to write his memoirs)
Ian Copeland was friends with the band and suggested that his kid brother could replace him.
