Dave Harvey was the first roadie The Police had. For a long time it was The Police, Kim Turner and him - and no one else. Right before the January 1980 US leg of the 1979-1980 Reggatta de Blanc Tour Dave accompanied the band equipment on a flight from England to New York, where he was picked up by new guy Jeff Seitz. Dave talked to Danny Quatrochi on the phone - he couldn't do the months of touring, but would fly back to his wife who had just had a baby.
