Asked about the acoustic guitar in the song's intro Andy Summers replied this in "Home & Studio Recording" (February 1992):
"It's that Takamine guitar over there. It's an electric/acoustic guitar - an acoustic that you can plug in. And possibly it's double tracked, I can't remember. It's a nice texture that blended with the electric guitar to get a really nice sound for the main melody - which is like a chord melody"
