Trivia

  • The town George is a suburb of Seattle, WA, USA
  • Martine Dedek, co-owner of Studio Evolve, had worked out with Sting at The Police's concerts in Seattle in 2007. She contacted Sting's people a couple of weeks before today's show, to let them know she was interested in working with him again. Like the previous year in Seattle, they contacted her just a few nights before the show and plans weren’t confirmed until two days before the concert.

Today, feeling a bit nervous, Martine made the long drive from Seattle to the Gorge Amphitheater. She was met by a security person on a golf cart who took her through a maze of roads to the backstage area. It was pushing 90 degrees when she arrived around 5:00pm. Fans were arriving for the show and the amphitheater was beginning to fill. Thankfully the dressing room tents were air conditioned and quiet.

Sting remembered the mix of Pilates, YBR and SPRe Bodywork from last year and was happy to do this mix again. Though ready to teach a tough workout session, it was apparent to Martine that traveling off and on for an entire year had taken its toll on the group. Sting needed something different that day, so Martine switched gears and started with Yamuna Body Rolling and SPRe bodywork and ended with some key Pilates exercises. Martine was happy knowing she reduced some of the stressors that come with being on the road and glad for the opportunity to spend another session with Sting!
