Setlist

Recording information

Parts of this concert were broadcast on TV as part of the Simple Truth Appeal - a charity telecast for Kurdish refugees in Iraq broadcast on May 12, 1991.

In 1992 the official VHS video The Soul Cages Concert was released, but it didn't include the guest appearances of Peter Gabriel and Sinead O'Connor.

Tracks from this concert were used as b-sides for many 1993 and 1994 Sting CD-singles.

Trivia

Peter Gabriel and Sinead O'Connor visited Sting at his hotel in The Hague earlier that afternoon. Sting and Peter Gabriel played tennis against two security men.

At the Statenhal there's a soundcheck because the guest star segments need to be rehearsed. Sting plays bass for Games Without Frontiers, My Special Child and Don't Give Up. He sang Guitar Man for fun.

After the rehearsal the musicians have dinner in the basement of the Statenhal - except for Sting. Instead he's leaving them to work out for half an hour. Afterwards Sting, Peter and Sinead write a letter to the Kurd-Aid organizers requesting them to give money from the benefit to other disaster victims.

After the concert there's a small party in the venue's dressing rooms. During the bus ride back to the hotel Sting and the others sing Spinal Tap's Big Bottom and recite the Stonehenge monologue.
