Andy Summers bought his 1961 (?) Fender Stratocaster during an early US tour with The Police while being in Austin, TX, USA (it might have been the 1979-10-31 date). It became his second main guitar onstage with the US tour in January 1980.

Gear breakdown

By 1982-02-12 the lower tone knob of the guitar was missing and the pickguard was broken at the top (where he used to squeeze his picks in ).

By 1986 a piece of the pickguard was missing - bottom right when you look at the guitar.
